You’ve Got Mail!

As a Peace Corps. volunteer you always look forward to letters, cards, and the occasional care package from home with Smartfood Popcorn or Crunchy Cheetos (hint hint). But last month, I received a little joy in the mail.

And so did my students when they realized the letters came all the way from America… just for them.

Watching my students enjoy writing to their new friends has been one of the highlights of my service.

My 4th form class that will be writing to the Circle School- 3rd grade class.

Seeing them so engaged and excited to write… is not the typical reaction you receive as a TEFL volunteer teaching young children.

And seeing them excited to tell their new friends everything from their parent’s ages… to their favorite hobby….

My older boys just so excited to receive a letter they can take home from America that they can’t stop smiling.

Because, even though they don’t understand everything that was written in their letter or who wrote the letter personally, they somehow know it’s from their new best friend.

Thanks Circle School for sending us a little joy. We hope to be sending a little joy your way soon!

We’re so happy to be your friends!
